Great Family Destinations in Bangkok

Great Family Destinations in Bangkok

Bangkok is a very diverse city that offers something for everyone. While many travellers are either alone or without children, travelling with a family can pose a few difficult problems. Children are notoriously hard to please and a bored child can easily ruin an otherwise enjoyable day trip.

Fortunately for those with children, Bangkok offers a number of fun and exciting destinations that kids will absolutely love. From aquatic life to amazing insects and even a huge waterpark, Bangkok can be a great destination for family vacations.

Siam Ocean World

Conveniently located within the Siam Paragon shopping center, visitors to Bangkok hotels will find the largest aquarium in all of Southeast Asia. Siam Ocean World is home to over 30,000 different aquatic animals distributed over seven different zones. The seven zones of the aquarium all relate to a different part of submarine life with sections such as “Deep Reef”, “Living Ocean” and “Rainforest”. Children are guaranteed to love this place.

Bangkok Butterfly Garden and Insectarium

If there is one thing that kids love it’s bugs and they will find all the insects they could ever hope for at the Butterfly Garden and Insectarium. Located right next to Chatuchak Park, this location is home to over 500 different butterflies all fluttering freely through a picturesque landscape of exotic foliage. The Butterfly Garden is an ideal place for beautiful family pictures and is simply a can’t miss destination.

Siam Water Park

Bangkok can be rather hot during certain times of the year and while most places will be air conditioned, nothing cools a group of kids off like a water park. Known as “Suan Siam” by the locals, the Siam Water Park is the largest water park in all of Asia. With pools and slides that tower 7 stories, this water park is the ideal place to beat the infamous heat.

Travelling with children can often pose its own set of distinct problems. Kids can be hard to please and they often aren’t interested in much sightseeing. While there are tons of things to do in Bangkok, there are also plenty of family friendly destinations that children will absolutely love.

Take a tour of the deep sea at the Siam Ocean World, interact with hundreds of butterflies at the Insectarium or splash down and cool off at the Siam Water Park. When they say that Bangkok has something for everyone, they really mean it.
