Bangkok offers visitors such a vast array of different things to do that it can be hard to narrow it all down. One thing that most travellers will be sure to do, however, is squeeze in some much needed shopping. Luckily, Bangkok is renowned as a shopping mecca and its Ratchaprasong shopping district is truly a legend. Visitors to the shopping district will find a number of smaller retailers and a host of large shopping centers. One mall that should not be missed, however, is the Siam Paragon.
Known as the “Jewel of Asia”, the Siam Paragon is much more than another shopping mall. Designed by a veritable army of architects and designers, it was meant to be a national showcase and houses stores from a variety of world class brands, an unrivaled food hall and even a full aquarium. Travellers will immediately notice its distinctive architectural design and will soon find themselves enveloped in a thoroughly modern and luxurious shopping paradise.
With names like Luis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Dior and Versace, just to name a few, the Siam Paragon is a truly upscale shopping destination. Each floor is broken up into different categories with one focusing on clothing, another on electronics and others focusing on home goods and lifestyle accessories. The Siam Paragon is home to Siam Ocean World, located on the lowest floor, which is the largest aquarium in all of Asia. The food hall is also something that must be experienced as the selection and quality of the food is simply unrivalled by any other shopping center in the world.
Getting to the Siam Paragon is incredibly easy, especially for guests of the City Point hotel in Bangkok. Guests can take the BTS 1 train, from the station located right by the hotel, 4 stops west. Travellers can also take the number 25 bus, heading west, as well. Far more than simply another shopping mall, the Siam Paragon is something that needs to be experienced to really be understood.
